On this dramatic journey we use low impact traditional modes of transport. Our equipment will be carried on pack-camels, possibly also in addition, packhorses. We will fly to west Mongolia on an almost 4 hours domestic flight from Ulaanbaatar. We will transfer out to the mountain regions from Olgyi, the Kazakh provincial capital, by 4wd Russian vehicles. Our crew will be Kazakhs and/or Tuvan. The local guide is trilingual at least: English, Mongol and Kazakh. Possibly also Tuvan and Russian.
Departs for Ulan Bator at Chingis Khan airport. On arrival, meet by our representatives and transfer to hotel for overnight.
Ulan Bator – Ulgii
After breakfast at hotel then flight to Ulgii 3hours. transfer to Meet your local Kazakh guide arriving at Ulgii airport, latest 17:00. You will meet your local guide here. Drive to GER camp. Overnight in ger camp.

After breakfast 185km driving (6-7hrs), we reach a road end.Beautiful views of the entire Altai Mountains range when we drive by Tsagaan Gol valley.After 165km(5-6hrs drive if not stopping) we will arrive at Shiveet Khairkhan Mountain,in Altai Tavan Bogd national park, where numerous Tuvan nomads live. Shiveet Khairkhan is holy for them, so there is no hunting, and usually possible to see a lot of Siberian Ibex in the early morning.Pitch camp. you will see the biggest rock printing(petroglyphs) belonged to Huns. Huns made Chinese to build The Great Wall of China /2500m/ (Tent B,L,D)
Horse riding along Potanina Glacier
We will ride horses for 16km to the Base camp area at the edge of the 20km long Potanina glacier, that runs down from the highest mountain in Mongolia. We will pitch our camp right here. Tavan Bogd means “The Holy Five” referring to the peaks of Khuiten (4374m and the highest), Malchin, Nairamdal, Khuiten, Naran, Burged. It is a stunning setting with the awe inspiring massif of high snow capped peaks. (2900m) (Tent B,L,D)

Back to Bayan-Ulgii
Today we say good bye to our horses and horse wranglers.Drive back 7-8 hrs to Bayan-Ulgii. On the way we will visit Kazakh eagle hunters family. Tonight is your chance to sleep in a Kazakh yurt(Ger). Hot shower and we will celebrate our ascent with cold beers and Kazakh traditional meal, “Besbarmakh”
“Besbarmakh ” means “Five fingers food” because the meal is typically eaten with the hands. This is a delicious stewed mutton, horsemeat sausages and vegetables, home-made noodles sprinkled with parsley and onion. (Ger camp /B/)

“13th Century National Park” is located in Erdene country, Yol Mountain 96km from Ulaanbaatar. The goal of “13th century” national park is build and establish real-time micro kingdom to make the lively feeling for its guests during their stay by genuinely providing true environment of the way of living and working of the 13th century.
Statue Complex of the Chinggis Khaan All foreign tourists and local tourists would at least once be interested to visit our statue as it is the world’s tallest horseman architectural monument which is also the symbol of our country where tourists would take photos, souvenirs and videos for keepsakes which will be a great marketing throughout the world. Not only the magnificent statue also helped us to promote Mongolia and remember our history through the world once again but also takes a bigger place in the tourism sector in Mongolia.
The complex which is 54 km away from Ulaanbaatar city placed in “Tsonjin Boldog” historical place Erdene soum, Tuv province near by the Tuul River was first erected in year 2006 and completed in year 2008. The total area is 212 hectare and the statue is built in center of the complex. The statue is 40 meters high including the base. The round shaped base is 10 meters high and its 30 meters diameter where Chinggis Khan’s museums, exhibition hall, restaurants, bar, meeting hall and souvenir shops are located.
